Volunteering at Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship Minimize

Volunteering London 2010British Triathlon in partnership with Upsolut will host a leg of the Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship Series 2010. This event will again be staged in Hyde Park, the venue for the 2012 Olympics.
We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic volunteers to help us on the weekend of 24/25 July 2010.

In a change to the 2009 format, the elite races will be staged on both days; elite women, Saturday 24 July and elite men, Sunday 25 July. Consequently, the age group races, which are open to participants of all abilities, across the Sprint and Olympic Distances, will also be staged across the entire weekend.

The elite as well as the Age Group races consist of a swim course in the Serpentine and the cycle and run courses in and around Hyde Park. There are a variety of volunteer roles throughout the event ranging from registration on the Friday to marshalling, keeping participants hydrated and energized and helping at course turnaround points on both event days.

The event will require a minimum of 300 volunteers each day, and we are keen to recruit volunteers from the London Region triathlon community with a keen interest in the sport.

Volunteering on one of the days will not only give you the chance to see world class elite triathletes race. You will also receive an event t-shirt and packed lunch for your support on the day. You can download the volunteer registration form through the following link: Volunteering Dextro.

To hear about all volunteer opportunities at major events in the Triathlon London region, please complete the registration form on the Register as a Triathlon London Volunteer page.

 Step-Into-Sport Minimize
toplink.jpgSport relies on 1.5 million volunteer officials, coaches, administrators and managers and the Youth Sport Trust plays a major role in supporting their development.

Step into Sport focuses on young people aged 14 to 19, giving them opportunities to become involved in sports leadership and volunteering and encouraging them to continue this into later life.

The programme is funded by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) as part of the national Physical Education School Sport and Club Links (PESSCL) strategy, which is revitalising PE and school sport across the country.
