The color and texture of menstrual blood is the source of worries to women as many do not have an idea of what is normal or what is not. • Orange color – This occurs when bright red blood mixes with cervical fluids resulting in the orange color. The bright orange color may also be a sign of infection. If accompanied by foul odor then you need to see your doctor.

• Blood clots – These may have any color, but the most common is a dark color. The clots are mostly associated with heavy periods as the blood anticoagulant agents do not have time to work on all the blood released.

• Tissue – Tissue in the menstruation blood may indicate that you had an early miscarriage. The tissue may be grey to white in color.
